Last week, we were one of the key speakers at a highly successful breakfast event for FinditintheBlackCountry, where businesses received expert advice on preparing for life in a digital age.
The Director’s Toolkit Seminar also had speakers from Price Pearson Chartered Accountants in Dudley and Thursfields Solicitors, which has seven offices across the Midlands.
The event was organised to give local business owners the knowledge they need as the new digital landscape is changing the way people behave and interact online. We gave an introduction to Cloud Computing and how it can make your business more efficient and secure. Other topics included changes in the Data Protection Act and how the biggest threat from security comes from within a business, HMRC and making tax digital regime and how warranties around IT, data protection and staffing can affect a deal when looking to acquire, merge or sell a business.
Director of FinditintheBlackCountry, Paul Long, said: “We wanted to create a bespoke event which would offer local business leaders an insight into where the digital future is heading. They learnt how it might affect them and how to get a competitive edge. The feedback we have already received has been excellent and a number of attendees have commented that they will be putting their learning straight into practice!”
